my disastrous Exhibition

Hier endlich ein paar Bilder meiner Ausstellung für alle, 

die zu weit weg wohnen und deshalb nicht dabei sein konnten.

Here, finally, a few pictures of my show for all,
who live too far away and therefore could not be there.

Normalerweise freut man sich, wenn man berichten kann, dass man eine tolle

Eröffnung hatte. Aber um die Wahrheit zu sagen: Diese war eine Katastrophe oder

auch SCHLIMMER GEHT NIMMER, jedenfalls was die Besucherzahlen anbelangt.

Sicherlich, wenn sich der Kosmos gegen dich verschworen hat, dann kannst du 

nichts machen. Bei tollstem Frühlingswetter gab es mehrere Riesencrashs auf den

Autobahnen rund um Hamburg, was zu Vollsperrungen und totalem Verkehrschaos

in der Stadt führte. Selbst ich habe es nur zu meiner eigenen Eröffnung geschafft,

weil ich spontan mein Auto bei einer Haltestation geparkt habe und mit der U-Bahn

weitergefahren bin!

Normally it would be great if you can tell that your opening was just fine.

But to tell you the truth: this was a disaster or
WORST EVER, at least as far as the number of visitors.
Surely, if the cosmos is conspiring against you, then you can
do anything. In most marvelous spring weather, there were several  

huge crashes on the Highways around Hamburg, 

leading to full closures and resultet in total traffic chaos
in the city. Even I've done it only to my own opening,
because I parked my car spontaneously at a holding station  

and took the subway!

Aber das ist wohl nicht das einzige Problem gewesen, sondern die Firma Schickler

hat auch versäumt ein paar Einladungen rauszuschicken und das macht mich richtig sauer.

Wer schon mal eine Ausstellung vorbereitet und gehängt hat, weiß wieviel Arbeit das

macht und da kann man ja wohl erwarten, dass die ihrerseits auch was tun und nicht,

dass ich bloß der Pausenclown bin für die die Büroräume für lau "dekoriere". ARGH!

Normalerweise stelle ich in Firmen nicht aus und werde es sicherlich auch

NIE WIEDER tun, es sei denn sie bezahlen eine Ausstellungsgebühr

oder kaufen was an! Und ich kann nur jedem raten, das auch nicht zu tun!

Demnächst werde ich mir wohl folgendes Schild um den Hals hängen 

oder mir gleich das passende T-Shirt kaufen hier!

But that's probably not been the only problem, but the company Schickler
has also failed to send out a few invitations and that makes me really angry.
If you have ever prepared and hung an exhibition, you probably know 

how much work the preparing and hanging is and you can probably  

expect as return that they invite some people, instead of 

being the clown for the break to "decorate" their office for free. ARGH!

 
Usually I don't exhibt in companies and I will certainly
Do NEVER AGAIN, unless they pay an fee or buy something from me!  

And I can only advise everyone not to do that too!

or buy the t-shirt  here!

Aber natürlich war nicht alles übel, ein paar Leute haben es doch geschafft, 

z.B. unsere allseits beliebte Rose (DANKE!) und das war natürlich toll 

und hat viel Spaß gemacht ein paar Hintergrundinformationen

zu geben, was sich der Künstler (also ich) sich bei den Bildern gedacht hat. 

Und es gab so auch genügend kleiner belegter Brötchen

 und Prosecco in gemütlicher Runde.

But of course it was not all bad, a few people have done it,
e.g. our very popular Rose (THANK YOU!) and that was great of course
and was a lot of fun, to give some background information  

what the artist (me) was intending with his pictures.
And there were also enough small rolls
  and prosecco in a relaxed atmosphere.
