drawing challenge "tiny"

Ha!

For this weeks drawing challenge Tammy has chosen the theme "TINY"
As it is called drawing challenge I thougt I show a drawing. Ha!

sketchbook drawing by barbara böttcher - Radiolarie

As I thought about the word "tiny", I noticed the very fascinating
drawings of Ernst Haeckel of Radiolaria, which are microscopic
small single-celled organisms that live in the sea, or rather their skeletons.

Radiolaria

Man who so willingly considers himself omniscient and says he knew
everything and has everything under control is not conscious about how
small our optical spectrum actually is! Because
everything less than 1mm, we can not really see very good anymore.
So  a lot of really tiny things
remain hidden.
Thanks to electron scanning microscopes made visible
we are now able to see the fascinating shapes of this Radiolaria.

Alle nachfolgenden Fotos habe ich hier gefunden.
Tolle Seite unbedingt mal reingucken!

I have found all subsequent pictures here.
Great site worthwhile a peek!

Kochsalz - salt

For example, I am fascinated by the idea that you sprinkle a kind of square concrete blocks
(Pictured above) ie saline on your food.

Blütenblätter einer Rose - rose leaves
Blütenknospe Baldrian
- Valerian flower bud

The world is so much more fascinating than we can ever imagine, if we
only would  be able to see the really tiny things.

Foto Planetarium Hamburg
gezeichnet habe.

Wie war das Thema noch mal? Winzig?

And if we could also watch yet the bigger picture, we could also see
that we are tiny. Because we can not not just see the tiny things
but the really big ones either. Because our earth throughout Universe
is not even as big as the fly shit dot I initially drew in my sketchbook.

What was the topic again? Tiny? I do not know what that is!
Because tiny  things can be big and large quite small.

I wish you much fun with the tiny and big things that
there is to see all at Tammys 'page!

Oh my gosh, aren't they all so beautiful and magnificent? I absolutely love the ocean tinies and their skeletal structure. Somewhere in my library in Vancouver I have a book of microscopic photography of snowflakes. So amazing to actually see things like this. Well done my friend. Big hugs. :D

Dein Bild ist sehr schön Barbara!
Besonders gefällt mir der Fliegenschiss,
um die Größe zu verdeutlichen ;)
Und die ganzen Fotos finde ich einfach
klasse, dort gehe ich auch mal stöbern. :))
Die ganz kleine Welt finde ich sehr
faszinierend. Apropos kleine Welt: Wo
kann ich solche Minileute bekommen? Ich
möchte auch mal damit fotografieren und
kann sie nicht finden. Sind das Figuren
von Eisenbahnen?

Wünsche Dir ein wunderschönes Wochenende!
Liebe Grüße
Möwe

I think I prefer not to see closeup of some of these things, I prefer the mystery of it just like when you found out how movies are made, some of the magic gets lost.

nice tiny enlarged drawing, I think it's rather fun to compare sizes certain things.

have a lovely day.

Hi Barbara! I find it somehow reassuring to know that the tiny tiny parts of life have such order! Hopefully, us larger things (beings) can discover how to have some sort or order as well. I loved this post. These visuals are a reservoir of fabulousness. Thanks for the links. Love your idea for this post. *hugs* N, x

A brilliant post - so beautiful! After reading it I went to water the plants on the corner and couldn't help wondering what fascinating, beautiful things were in each tiny drop.

Such exquisitely beautiful photos, and I love your drawing of the Radiolarian, as I am a big fan of Haeckel. But you are right, 'tiny' is relative, a matter of perspective, isn't it? We are so very tiny in comparison to a nebula, or a star...

nadine paduart hat gesagt…

yes, it makes me wonder too, often, how we are tiny in effect, but don't always realise this to the full. the 'invisible' world is fascinating, and what a shame it is so hard to notice, we would discover the world over, and over, and over again, forever repeating itself... what a comforting thought, in a sense. i appreciate your tiny dot at the very beginning of your post... n♥

Wow i see this as a circle from the very tiny to the real huge and return!! and then into this circle you lose the real dimension about what is small and what is big.
