Elbrausch-Designmarkt Hamburg

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

bald ist es soweit, nur noch 2 Tage und der Elbrausch Designmarkt öffnet 

seine Türe. Ich bin zum ersten Mal dabei und freue mich schon sehr!

Über alle die mich besuchen möchte, mein Stand wird im 1. Stock sein.

Kommt vorbei, es wird bestimmt sehr inspirierend, wenn ich mir so

die Liste all der kreativen Talente ansehe, die dabei sein werden.

Der ELBRAUSCH-DESIGNMARKT findet statt am

Samstag, den 30. Mai von 12 - 18 Uhr und

Sonntag, den 31. Mai von 10 - 18 Uhr

in der Holstenglacis 6 im Karoviertel, Hamburg

update Collagen-Übersicht

Lange überfällig, habe ich es jetzt endlich mal geschafft die neuen

Collagen in die Übersichtsblätter zu füllen, denn ohne die habe ich

ehrlich gesagt, auch überhaupt keinen Überblick mehr über meine

Collagen - es sind mittlerweile einfach schon zu viele und ich glaube,

ich habe auch welche vergessen.

Wollt Ihr noch mehr sehen, geht bitte auf "Collagen" oben im Reiter.

Long overdue, I've finally managed to fill in  the new collagen 

in the summary sheets, because without them  I frankly,  have no  

track of my Collagen - there are now just too many and I think
I forget some already.

dc Frida

Our lovely Patrice is our host for this weeks drawing challenge

and the very intruiging theme is Frida (Kahlo).

This most incredible woman invented a today so called 

"signature look" with her mexican folklore inspired style

with lots of colors and flowers in her hair and sometimes neck.

Together with her "look" and her eyebrows you can recognize

her even if you don't see andy face or else anymore.

So I erased everything but her iconic style elements and its

still works.

For this piece I replaced the flowers with colorful bugs and moth

and I think it looks even so good.

And now an old (and unknown) family member turned into

a Frida fan.

Not to forget to mention the incredible film with an amazing

Salma Hayek as Frida. The film is listed in the category

romance and comedy and sometime I wonder if those people

ever watched this movie because I would put into drama.

Because she turned her pain into incredible artwork that's for

sure but I wouldn't want to exchange with her, because of so

much suffer and pain. She paid a high price for her art career.

I can highly recommend this film but it is no easy stuff!

Wann wird's denn endlich Frühling?

Wann wird's denn endlich Frühling!

When will it be spring!

Letztes Jahr war es viel viel wärmer und schöner,

das neue (second hand) Daybed war aufgebaut und ich konnte

draußen zeichnen. Und jetzt?! VIEL zu kalt.

 ☃☔☁☹

Last year it was much much warmer and more beautiful,
the new (secondhand) daybed was built and I could
draw outside. And now ?! Too cold.

Aber es soll ja besser werden, also hoffen wir mal das Beste ☺

But it is supposed to be better, so let's hope the best ☺

Georgia O'keefe kennt ja eigentlich jeder, aber ich finde es super faszinierend,

was sie sagt. Es gibt übrigens mehrere Teile dieses Interviews und ich kann

nur empfehlen sie alle anzusehen.

Georgia O'keefe is probably known to everybody, but I still think it is super

fascinating what she says. There are by the way more episodes of this 

interview and I would recommend to see the all.

Ja, wo sind die Frauen? Wer meine Great Woman post gelesen hat, weiß

daß ich mich darüber ärgere, daß Frauen immer gern unter den Tisch gekehrt

werden und irgendwie geschieht das immer wieder und hinterher sieht es

so aus, als würden Frauen es einfach nicht drauf haben, dabei stimmt das

ganz und gar nicht, denn selbst solche Dinge wie die Waschmaschine wurde

von einer Frau erfunden oder glaubt ihr, daß sich irgendein Mann dafür

interessiert hätte?

Yes, where are the women? Who has read my Great Woman post, knows
that I'm not happy that women always be swept under the carpet
and somehow that happens again and again and afterwards it seems
like as if women just do not have it, this is not true that at all,
because even such things as the washing machine has been
invented by a woman, or do you believe that any man would  have

been interested in it?

Fisch am Freitag - im Studio

Lang ists her, daß ich bei Fisch am Freitag bei Andiva mitgemacht habe

und heute melde ich mich zurück mit einem Ölgemälde, sozusagen

"Hering in Öl".

Long time ago that I have participated in fish on Friday at Andivas'
and today I am back with an oil painting, so to speak,
"Herring in oil".

Als "Palette" nehme ich Einweg-Pappteller, das finde ich ganz praktisch.

Aber manche Leute nehmen auch Glasplatten als Palette, das muß ich vielleicht

auch mal ausprobieren. Ich bin nicht sonderlich versiert in Ölmalerei, deshalb

wollte ich das einfach mal ändern. Allerdings weiß ich nicht, wie Leute es 

schaffen zu Malen, ohne die Hände komplett eingeschmiert zu haben?

As a "palette" I take disposable paper plates, which I find quite handy.
But some people take glass plates as a palette, I must perhaps
try sometimes. I am not very well versed in oil painting, so
I wanted to change that. However, I do not know how people
paint without having their hands completely smeared?

So sehen sie nun aus die Heringe in Öl auf rotem Flauschteppich.

So you can now see from the herring in oil on red fluffy carpet.

Und hier der Ort des Geschehens. Wer schon mal Ausschnitte meines
Studios gesehenhat mit ordentlichen Kästen etc. und meint, ich wäre
sehr ordentlich wirdseine Meinung jetzt wohl schnell ändern müssen. 

Äh, und es geht natürlich ohne weiteres noch chaotischer.

Ich wünsche Euch allen ein schönes Wochenende mit oder ohne Fisch!

And here is the site of the incident. Who ever saw my studio clippings
with ordinary boxes etc. and thinks I would be very tidy 
has now probably an opinion to change his mind quickly.
Uh, and it is of course  easy to be even more chaotic.

Ich ärgere mich oft, daß wir in einer Welt leben in der das Altern 

gemieden wird wie der Teufel das Weihwasser, als wenn es das

Böse an sich wäre. Und Gott bewahre man bekommt irgendwelche

Falten, da wird geschnippelt und ausgebügelt und unterfüttert was das Zeug

hält besonders bei den "Celebrities" und dann muß man sich noch den

ewigen gleichen Schmus anhören von gesunderer Ernährung, Sport und 

viel Wasser. Das ich nicht lache! 

Deshalb heute dieses etwas bitterböse Collage zu diesem Thema.

I often get angry that we live in a world in which aging
is shunned like the plague, as if that would be
Evil per se. And God forbid you get any
wrinkles, as is snipped and ironed out and relined whats possible
 especially the "Celebrities" and then you have to listen the
eternal same rubbish of healthier nutrition, sports and
plenty of water. I do not laugh!

Therefore today this somewhat bitter collage on the subject.

artist video tuesday - Iris Apfel Dresses for Matisse

HI everyone, today I like to show this intriguing video of outrages Iris Apfel known for her unique and colorfuly style. I really like the idea how she closes the gap between art and fashion as she shows the influences of art to fashion. And she for sure is an living artwork on her own and therefore I can't wait to see the documentary film about this lady although I fear that will take time until we will see it here in germany - sigh. Being so young and alife and crazy with 93! Isn't that the total WOW-factor?!

Veronica once again anounced a theme for this weeks 

drawing challenge "STARS". One which I particularly like as I'm a big fan

of all outerspace things, stars, science, hubble, nebulars, black holes and so forth.

In an paralell universe I like be an astro physician - but to be honest I was really

bad in physics at school - but we never had the interesting stuff like

astrophysics I blame it to that fact. Boring school what can I say.
