dc WATER
Water means life, for without water no life can probably arise.
A drop of water is not only clear transparent liquid,
but under the microscope unfold quite amazing worlds
like here in this example left a water flea,
who subsist from ball alga Pandorina
(what a pretty name!) right pic..

Der deutsche Forscher und Wissenschaftler Ernst August Haeckel (1834 - 1919)
erforschte u.a.
The German explorer and scientist Ernst August Haeckel (1834 - 1919)
explored, inter alia, one-celled animals, radiolarians, medusae and siphonophores.
But he was not only researchers, but also a gifted artist as all

But he was not only researchers, but also a gifted artist as all
illustrations coming from his hand are still impressively
demonstrate by their fidelity to nature and plasticity.
These have because of their material wealth still scientific value.
AND what is even more important, they are beautiful and an inexhaustible
source of inspiration for me and I can recommend his books you just warmest,
they are worth every penny! here and here

These two paintings of me from 2009 are Haeckel inspired and
combine pattern formation and "line drawing" and just need
to fill the gap, because the original image is in the exhibition.

Chris Hadfield's Snapshots from Space
hier wiederkehrende Muster.
I'm fascinated by patterns and not just since it is the pattern-Wednesday.
(see yesterdays post)
I find particularly interesting that there are patterns that repeat themselves,
some parts of plants look like human organs, etc.
And if you have the chance to take a look at the Earth from the distance,
like Chris Hadfield demonstrates to us so wonderful, then you also recognizes recurring patterns here.
You'd think the repertoire of patterns is
limited in the universe, but I think there are more than enough to discover

So have fun in discovering new perspectives!

Muster-Mittwoch 74
Today is pattern-wednesday at Michaela's again
and for me the motto this time is "Owls not howls."
This fabulours font I have found here
and it is certainly not the last that I download there.

Be sure to check it out!
Who would have thought that there are so many brilliant fonts?
Who would have thought that there are so many brilliant fonts?
A bit of playing with photoshop "styles" later
and the pattern madness takes its course.
Sorry, but sometimes I don't know when to stop!
So don't miss to stop by Michaela's for more
intriguing animal pattern!
And I like to thank all you you very very much for all
your lovely comments about my exhibition.
That really helped a lot and I'm still trying to go back to you all.

my disastrous Exhibition
Here, finally, a few pictures of my show for all,
who live too far away and therefore could not be there.
who live too far away and therefore could not be there.
weitergefahren bin!
Normally it would be great if you can tell that your opening was just fine.
But to tell you the truth: this was a disaster or
WORST EVER, at least as far as the number of visitors.
Surely, if the cosmos is conspiring against you, then you can
do anything. In most marvelous spring weather, there were several

do anything. In most marvelous spring weather, there were several
huge crashes on the Highways around Hamburg,
leading to full closures and resultet in total traffic chaos
in the city. Even I've done it only to my own opening,
because I parked my car spontaneously at a holding station
in the city. Even I've done it only to my own opening,
because I parked my car spontaneously at a holding station
and took the subway!
oder kaufen was an!
But that's probably not been the only problem, but the company Schickler
has also failed to send out a few invitations and that makes me really angry.
If you have ever prepared and hung an exhibition, you probably know
has also failed to send out a few invitations and that makes me really angry.
If you have ever prepared and hung an exhibition, you probably know
how much work the preparing and hanging is and you can probably
expect as return that they invite some people, instead of
being the clown for the break to "decorate" their office for free. ARGH!
Usually I don't exhibt in companies and I will certainly
Do NEVER AGAIN, unless they pay an fee or buy something from me!
And I can only advise everyone not to do that too!
Soon I'll probably wearing this sign around my neck
or buy the t-shirt here!

But of course it was not all bad, a few people have done it,
e.g. our very popular Rose (THANK YOU!) and that was great of course
and was a lot of fun, to give some background information

And there were also enough small rolls
and prosecco in a relaxed atmosphere.
